The Biggest Concrete Arch Bridge In World

Next to the Hoover Dam, they're building the biggest concrete arch bridge in the world across the mighty Colorado River, connecting Nevada and Arizona. The arch was finished last week and the bridge is to open at the end of 2010.

  8. I just saw a document about the making of St. Louis monument and it somehow reminded me of that bridge. How the arc connected in the middle and all. Those big projects are so grandiose but there is no mythical work men heroes anymore, or is there?

  10. The difference between this and the St.Louis Arch is that it has to withstand all these huge trucks crossing every minute.
I'll have to go back and check on the progress - I hated shooting into the sun - maybe I can find another vantage point. The Hoover Dam and now the bridge - amazing feats of engineering.
