Hot Dog Eating Contest - Faces Of Valor

The winner of the Vegas preliminaries (30 dogs in 10 minutes) will go to Coney Island to take on the world champion (60+ dogs in 10 mins).  Speed eating? This is one contest I wouldn't mind coming in dead last.

Pet-A-Palooza In Vegas

Adopt Me

What great fun everyone had at Pet-A-Palooza, especially the dogs and their human pets. I certainly took a darn good licking - hope some of the older dogs got adopted.

Pet-A-Palooza - The Doggie High Jump

I could've sat and watched the doggie high jump all afternoon - the dogs loved showing off - the louder the crowd cheered, the higher they jumped. Some breeds are more athletic than others - the chihuahuas sat in the stands and barked approval.

Smith Center - The Boman Pavilion

Even the elevators are art deco
The Smith Center has two buildings - the Reynolds with the concert hall and the Boman Pavilion with the 300 seat cabaret and the studio theater - all of it quite gorgeous art deco, down to the trash cans.

Art & Detail At Smith Center

Vegas does design very well - incredible staircases, attention to detail and Mary Smith, as in Smith Center, had a thing for pigs - fair enough.

Rockabilly Weekend At Orleans

Rockabilly - Rosie the Riveter, mohawks, tattoos, but the music blaring everywhere was great.

Rockabilly Weekend Car Show

No car younger than 1963 - what is it about automobiles that attracts half-naked women?

Art In Symphony Park

To go along with the new symphony hall at the Smith Center, we have a Symphony Park full of art - statues of donors/fund raisers and Pipe Dream (Fanfare For The Common Man) by Tim Bavington, inspired by Aaron Copland.

The Vegas ACM Experience

The Academy Of  Country Music Experience - after consuming all that lard, you go bull riding. It won't help - the bull does all the work.
