Lake Mead
Lake Mead, the reservoir for Vegas, was created by the Hoover Dam. As you can see by the top photo, the water level has dropped drastically - soon there'll be no lake at all. Water shortage is a colossal problem for the entire South West.

Water problem seems to be an Universal problem. Hope it rains soon.
ReplyDeleteWater problems are everywhere! There is either a shortage or downpours! But the lake is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe water situation in the world is a good reminder that we can't really keep using our world the way we have these past few centuries. The pictures are beautiful though!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful lake and great shots of the mountains. I hope that you will get rain soon.
ReplyDeleteGood pics. When I was there i the summer of 2008, I had trouble getting a good shot. Always was at a bad angle or something and the lake is so narrow.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I've seen Lake Mead. Lots of folks doing the rain dance ... us included.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Even up here on the west coast of Canada which is usually wet we have had an incredibly dry summer. We all could use more rain
ReplyDeleteYikes! That's a serious situation!
ReplyDeleteArgentina is also in trouble and facing the worst drought since decades. It pushed the country into a state of emergency. Let's hope Vegas is spared that fate. Anyway, I like your photos though.
hot as usual there this time of year, huh? Hoover dam tour was neat the new one they put out I saw last year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours... but sorry to hear about the water shortages.
ReplyDeleteI've been here, W, and your photos make it look like a red-hot day!
