Hoover Dam
The Hoover Dam, completed in 1935, made it possible for Vegas to exist. It supplies power to 4 neighboring states via the giant generators 700 feet underground - it's all very art deco.

I've seen this only in movies, it looks huge and impressive. Great images, the middle one with the water is my favorite. You could actually visit the dam and the plant itself?
ReplyDeleteArt Deco is always cool especially in a place as well kept as this. The pump hall, or whatever it is, my fave and the machines are so beautiful and functional.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I want to see this in person! The Hoover dam is still impressive today. Cool pictures!
ReplyDeleteNice shots I didn't know they were doing the tours again.
ReplyDeleteYes, they're doing tours into the bowels - incredible structure - now that's how the West was won.
ReplyDeleteHi W, I think that first shot of the dam really shows its immensity in relation to the landscape.
