Lake Mead

Lake Mead, the reservoir for Vegas, was created by the Hoover Dam. As you can see by the top photo, the water level has dropped drastically - soon there'll be no lake at all. Water shortage is a colossal problem for the entire South West.

  3. The water situation in the world is a good reminder that we can't really keep using our world the way we have these past few centuries. The pictures are beautiful though!

  5. Good pics. When I was there i the summer of 2008, I had trouble getting a good shot. Always was at a bad angle or something and the lake is so narrow.

  6. It's been a long time since I've seen Lake Mead. Lots of folks doing the rain dance ... us included.

  7. Great shots. Even up here on the west coast of Canada which is usually wet we have had an incredibly dry summer. We all could use more rain

  8. Yikes! That's a serious situation!

Argentina is also in trouble and facing the worst drought since decades. It pushed the country into a state of emergency. Let's hope Vegas is spared that fate. Anyway, I like your photos though.
