Cafes At The Aria

People lounging just off the casino among big, tree-like things. Hostesses at the futuristic Cafe Vettra greet people among green cones. And the ice cream at Chill matches the decor.

  1. Wolynski-Again, beauties. One time you mentioned changing the settings in your Lumix. Have you permanently changed some? Are you willing to divulge them? Or do you change things for each shot?

  2. Most of the time the Auto setting on a point-&-shoot does the job. But you do have some control, some limited manual. Depending the situation, you can pick the ISO (film speed of old) and minimum shutter speed. For example, in bright sunlight I like to set it to 2/3-1 stop underexposed for more saturated colors.

The flash has different intensities, the autofocus can be set for faces or landscapes - there's many options to explore. I recommend testing various settings.

  3. I love it! There is, without a doubt, no place like Las Vegas! And your photos are always terrific! So colorful and you won't find anything like them in the old dull northwest! I'm not complaining mind you, I just love seeing the difference! Great post!

Have a great week, a very Merry Christmas and a fun weekend!

  7. I have seen the last three post in a row and they are a crescendo of spectacular things. I can't imagine these cafes in any other place.
You're painting your city with vivid and fascinating colors, without skipping its occasional ugliness... Bravo!

  9. Ha ha that's funny, ice cream matching decor.

And the chairs matching the fake "trees" as if they were made of fake tree lumber.

  13. I am enjoying this so much! I wish it had been open the weekend we were there. It's so modern and futuristic compared to the rest of the places I saw. I love the shot of the green cones but my favorite is the ice cream parlor..the yummy colors and the sheen on the chairs..they look almost wet. Keep shooting. This is fun.
