Works Of Art In City Center
Works of art are shown throughout the newly opened City Center. The mural that looks like a dart board is several stories high and quite dramatic at night; the round red circle with a brush is a giant eraser, and Chihuly, of the famous Bellagio ceiling, has his own gallery.

WOW! I love these. The colors are great! The old fashioned eraser art is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet some of your readers have never seen a real one of those erasers.
ReplyDeleteThis place is amazing...wow. I have never seen an eraser like that!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing place the City Center is! Fabulous shots indeed!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and nice comment.
I don't know much about this kind of art, but the eraser is quite funny and the dart board impressive!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots - I can almost feel like I'm there.
ReplyDeleteCrash: I had no idea what that was, until someone told me it was an eraser. Never used one like that - must be an American thing.
ReplyDeleteAmerica is known for having some of the finest erasers in the world.
ReplyDeleteThe eraser is by the Swedish-American artist Claes Oldenburg. He is known for his giant sculptures of everyday objects. His most famous work is probably the Cherry and Spoon bridge. I'd link it, but these comments won't let me copy/paste.
ReplyDeleteI live near the Cherry and Spoon in Minneapolis. Now, if it only had snakes.................

ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing this out - I forgot it was by Oldenburg - found the small plaque on second visit.
