The Old El Cortez Is New Again
Sometimes they don't blow up old buildings in Vegas, but renovate them. Also, old neon signs are being pulled from the neon graveyard and installed on Fremont St - makes it quite wonderful.

So glad that people are now re-discovering those old neon signs.
ReplyDeleteI love las Vegas
ReplyDeleteIts a wonderful place :)
Nice to see place renovated and the old signs are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThis is cool. Love the old signs and the old buildings. Great that they aren't torn down or thrown away. Yippeee!
ReplyDeleteThe lights and sights of Las Vegas are really cool. I love the noen signs and have heard about Fremont St but I did not make it there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
I am always for keeping nice old buildings and to renovate them. At the Belgian coast they demolished all these beautiful Mansions along the promenade and replaced them like boxes looking high buildings ! It is a shame and soooo ugly ! But of course they have more appartments to sell or to rent !
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of renovation. And the neon signs are fun, as long as they're in Vegas.
ReplyDeleteI like the neon cocktail - it's like the essence of vegas - for someone who's never been there! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, I like the idea of renovation, too! Wild signs! Fun post! Thanks for sharing the fun!

Quite lovely photos - thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! I love old neon signs. I visited the neon boneyard once. It was absolutely amazing and IMHO the most interesting place in Vegas.
ReplyDeleteOld is cool and when old becomes new it must be even more cooler. That martini glass neon is just incredible.
ReplyDeleteI love the angle on the 2nd photo. I never thought to shoot it that way. great shot.
ReplyDeleteAnother nice set: old, new or renovated these signs are incredible.
ReplyDeleteIt's still pretty neon for me, W! However your shots are fantastic. I especially like the angles on the second. The pink clouds in the first are a nice touch, too - a bit of natural beauty.
ReplyDeleteI love the displays from that era...so full of life and color.
ReplyDeleteRecycling--that's the way to go! :D I'm glad they're rediscovering the value of the old signs. I love all things vintage, and moves, such as this, to restore their old glories is cause for celebration in my book!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit, W! I hope you can visit St. Pete again someday.
