Bull Riding Is A Dangerous Sport
Bull riding is a dangerous sport. I always thought who stays on the longest wins. Not so. You have to stay on for 8 seconds, then you disembark. Points are awarded for how beautifully you ride.
I borrowed a Nikon P90 Coolpix for this series - still a point & shoot, more control, better sensor, but lens not nearly as good as the little Lumix.

It is indeed dangerous! And it does take skill! Had a cousin who was a bull rider -- years ago, but it hasn't changed much. Terrific photos!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! Be careful what you ride!

Great action shots, W - if I could only capture my Grandkids like this while jumping and twisting! Did you use a speed setting on the camera? Wonder if those cowpokes get a massage afterward?
ReplyDeletei find this sport very, very scary. Your camera did well in capturing the action. Cool shots!
ReplyDeleteSo did the guy in the last picture get a bulls head to his ass or what? At least all the cowboys seem to wait for that very eagerly!!:-)
ReplyDeleteWow - those are fantastic action shots! Love the blurred bull in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteI simlpy find this impossible. But I know they do it and sometimes riding beautifully. These photos are pure action, great!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame we don't have anything so extreme here in England. Saying that, every Saturday night in every city centre is a bull-ride into terror.
ReplyDeletePhotographer up! Nice job.
ReplyDeleteFirst photo I like most!
ReplyDeleteI always wondered how someone dares to do such a ride!
Great shots. That would terrify me.
ReplyDeleteGreat 'bull riding in action' shots. I think this hobby is just insane.
