Downtown It's The Summer Of Love
Downtown on Fremont Street they're celebrating the 40th anniversary of the summer of love. I thought the summer of love was in 1967, but who's counting? They have free shows - The Grass Roots above - and Binions is displaying a tie-die Baldwin piano.

Happy celebrations!
ReplyDeleteLovely colorful shots!
Wow! No need for any saturation in those pics!! :-D
ReplyDeleteThe guy on that piano needs no other refreshments to make some spacy music. You sure have colours there.
ReplyDeleteHow lichen smells like? I can´t really describe it but I regognize it immediately. Have to try to "record" that feeling next time.
You are correct about 1967 being the summer of love but I often get it mixed up myself because 1969 was Woodstock. That may be what they're thinking about.
ReplyDeleteWhat a colorful place. Vivid shots.
That's one heck of a psychedelic piano. I love it!
ReplyDeleteVegas still looks so colorful, but it has probably changed since I have been there last time in 1994 !
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I want that piano!!
ReplyDeletegreat shots...love that piano. sure makes an impact!
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful afternoon.
I so want that piano! Great shot.
ReplyDeleteThat piano is quite something. Perhaps you could send a little of the Vegas sunshine my way?
ReplyDeleteenlarging your Vegas photos are always a treat.
ReplyDeleteBeing a Hippee in the 60's (actually - a geek!), I believe you're correct on the date of the Summer of Love. However, that was a lOOOOOng time ago, so my memory doesn't serve me well. The tie-dye Baldwin is super though - very 60's (and Vegas, too!).
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have thought it was possible for Las Vegas to get more colourful, but apparently I was wrong! LOL! Wow .. so bright!
