Nascar Cafe Sale
I seem to be visiting the Sahara a lot more since it closed... The Nascar Cafe had a sale of its racing memorabilia and pots and pans. Now who would want a used mattress from a hotel? Other hotels? I'd rather sleep on the floor.

Everything Must Go At The Sahara
By everything I mean everything - not just blackjack tables, but toilet paper holders. The high roller suite got cleaned out except for the lone couch and people were making a mad dash for the rickety old dresser in the hallway.

Sahara Sale
The Sahara has just started selling off everything - line around the block. Probably a few interesting items, but my goodness, don't people have enough junk already?

The Final Days Of The Sahara
Been here for almost 60 years, lately run down, well past its heyday of glamor. But it anchored my neighborhood - don't want to think what this will do to the northern part of the Strip.

The Sahara Is Closing On May 16th


And to think this was once the pearl of the desert, hangout of Elvis and the Rat Pack. The Beatles stayed a night in 1964. Not much to look at now, but still, another piece of history gone.
