End Of Summer In Naked City

It's been a long, brutal summer and everyone's hair has wilted... I never understood if that mannequin is supposed to attract people to the strip club or keep them away.

Luv It Custard

Come rain or shine, Luv It Custard is by far the busiest business in my neighborhood - it's an egg based ice cream. Hope it never becomes a chain - you can't replicate that freshly made taste.

White Cross Drugstore Is Closing

Closing? Every time I passed by I couldn't believe it was still open after 60+ years in business. Stepping through its doors was like time travel. The coffee shop part is supposed to stay open.

Businesses In Naked City

I love Naked City, the northern and less glamorous part of Las Vegas Boulevard - small motels, wedding chapels and one tattoo parlor after another, all very clean and pretty... and a bizarre display of Marilyn Monroe mannequins.

11-11-11: Wedding Gridlock In Vegas

Everyone got married in Vegas on 11-11-11, so many the police had to be called in to direct traffic outside the chapels - weddings started at midnight and went around the clock.

Naked City: Stay And Eat

Naked City is the northern part of Las Vegas Boulevard, between the Stratosphere and Downtown - quite a different feel to the Strip. The arepas stand is new - delicious food at affordable prices and Albo's has excellent pizza.

Naked City, LV Boulevard north of Sahara, is full of wedding chapels, lawyers (one leads to the other) and small motels and Elvis comes to work every day.

White Cross Drugstore And Diner

White Cross is one of the few remaining old-fashioned drugstores and diners on Las Vegas Blvd, north of the Stratosphere. You get heaps of bacon with your eggs - open 24 hours.

Naked City At Night

Naked City, the forgotten part of Las Vegas Boulevard between Sahara and Fremont, has character, with the pretty Tod Motel and Dino's, the last neighborhood bar.

Naked City

Las Vegas Blvd between Sahara and Downtown is known as Naked City, because all the strippers and showgirls used to live here. Nothing but seedy motels that rent by the hour, wedding chapels and strip clubs.

Pink Motels

Vegas is dotted with seedy motels. All of the above -the Happi Inn, Fun City, Tod Motel are on L.V. Boulevard. As long as you have the money, no questions asked. Some people pass through, others end up staying for years.
