The ACM Experience Expo
The Academy Of Country Music association is having their awards in Vegas this weekend and cowboys were selling stuff at the Mandalay Bay - milk can bar stools, lamps made out of guns and antlers and a mechanical calf.

The New City Hall In Vegas
Lobby. |
Art. Art? |
Went to see the sparkling new City Hall. Thought the glass cleaner was in readiness to polish all the windows - turned out to be art. I looked up our Mayor - she was busy working. It's great that a member of the public can come in and take all the photos they want - that's how it should be.

Kiss Frenzy In Vegas
The first couple to be married at Kiss |
Can't say I understand this cult-like adoration of the rock group Kiss - they even have a Mini Kiss. Everyone came out in their Kiss finery to celebrate the opening of the Kiss wedding chapel and mini golf course.

White Cross Drugstore Is Closing
Closing? Every time I passed by I couldn't believe it was still open after 60+ years in business. Stepping through its doors was like time travel. The coffee shop part is supposed to stay open.

Nascar Vegas: Haulers Parade
Once a year the big trucks come up the Strip in a long procession - the racing cars are inside? Some people even bring chairs to view the monster trucks better.

Former and current Mayors, Oscar and Carolyn Goodman |
A shaggy pram arrived, the Goodmans inspected Lucy, who was ready for burning and a fire engine burst out in flames at the First Friday Burning Man festival.

Burn Vegas
The Burning Man came to Vegas, except they burned a wooden woman called Lucy - it was all very festive and pagan.

Red Dress At The World Market Center
The Red Dress Ball was a fundraiser for Aids - might as well look fabulous, if not, then creative, for a good cause. I think the top dress is made out of cup holders.
