Vegas Downtown Architecture
Vegas is like any other town - government buildings, banks, churches... and a cluster of casinos, bathed in the harsh desert sun.The city has done wonders with renovating Downtown, but it needs grocery stores if they want people to move there.

White Xmas In Vegas
We always have a white Xmas in Vegas, but only indoors - real snow is not for us. Irving Berlin wrote the song "White Christmas" in sunny California, because he was missing the real thing - a Jew yearning for snow? Not me - I'll take the skating penguins.

Photographing Xmas
You'd never know this was the slowest week in Vegas by the crowds at the Bellagio Conservatory - no one was looking at anything, except through their lens.

Dogs Waiting In Line To See Santa
Town Square had the bright idea of encouraging dogs to come and have their photo taken with Santa - and come they did, freshly groomed and dressed. I think the owners enjoyed it more than the pets.

Piranha In Vegas
A new gay (as in merry) boutique nightclub, Piranha, opened recently. What better place to be naughty and flamboyant? Everyone comes as they aren't.

Gay Fun In Vegas
No matter if you're gay, straight or undecided - for a night of mad drinking, dancing and ogling, there's nothing better than a hot gay nightclub. The Piranha just opened up and it's very naughty fun.

Nascar Fanfest on Fremont
I come across a lot of different cultures in my photographic forays - the Nascar fans are definitely the most ardent, especially the women. What a turn out to see the drivers in person.

Las Vegas County Jail
The big county jail blends in with modern downtown very nicely. Almost looks like pricey condos... almost.

Winter In Venice In Vegas
The Venetian is celebrating winter by installing an ice rink, a big Xmas tree and having jugglers entertain the crowds.

Thanksgiving At Area 99
Area 99 is what Occupy Las Vegas are calling their little encampment, wedged between Swenson and Paradise, unseen and out of the way. Took me hours to find it.
More photos.

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville At The Flamingo
They call it a new casino, but it's a re-modeled part of the Flamingo, with a great view of the Strip. Giant vats of margaritas everywhere - no one leaves sober.

Businesses In Naked City
I love Naked City, the northern and less glamorous part of Las Vegas Boulevard - small motels, wedding chapels and one tattoo parlor after another, all very clean and pretty... and a bizarre display of Marilyn Monroe mannequins.

11-11-11: Wedding Gridlock In Vegas
Everyone got married in Vegas on 11-11-11, so many the police had to be called in to direct traffic outside the chapels - weddings started at midnight and went around the clock.

Bellagio Conservatory: The Colors Of Fall
I like to check up on the Bellagio Conservatory to make sure it's as intricate and lovingly planted as ever. It is.
