The November Nine

The final nine of the Main Event are all set for November - there's ten in the photo and one had to go. Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi is the most recognizable name and Jonathan Duhamel is the chip leader. Eight of the finalists are in their twenties.

All the poker playing Mizrachi brothers cashed in the main event - the most talented, Michael, made it to the November Nine final table - when he plays, the rest of the family is right behind him biting their nails. Michael is going for his second bracelet of 2010.

WSOP Main Event Final Days

The cavernous Amazon Ballroom is empty, except for a few scattered tables, surrounded by crowds. A player is about to get bounced from the final 27 - they'll play on until there's 9 left and they'll reconvene in November.

Barely Out Of Diapers, Already Millionaires

At the age of 15, the Norwegian Annette Obrestad entered a free online tournament, which she won. Now having real cash, she won lots more online tournaments - hundreds of thousands, if not millions before turning 18. At 18, she won the European WSOP Main Event. Just turned 21 and finally was allowed to play in Vegas. Although she didn't do well in this year's WSOP, she has enough money to keep her in herring for the rest of her life. And she didn't invest a dime in her poker career.

Scrumptious little Italian Dario Minieri won a WSOP bracelet in 2008 at the age of 23. He also got a Porsche with his 3 million player points on PokerStars - he must have not left the house in years.

Joe Cada won last year's Main Event at age 21 - around $8 million. Although he had backers - had to give them half - still it's a lot more than his father, a laid-off Detroit car worker, ever made.

The World Series is a boon to poker dealers - 2 months of solid employment - and to former Playboy Playmates of the Year. Don't laugh, Sara Underwood lasted until day 2. And collectors can display their weird figurines. Monk?!

Main Event Day 1: Crowds And Excitement

All of humanity arrived at the Rio to play poker, some of them more sane than others. Phil Gordon, along with a band of players, dressed in white to put a Bad Beat On Cancer and raise awareness and money. Not all poker players will look good in tight fitting, white outfits - in fact, most of them won't.
